Pilot for digital onboarding of “Book a Test Ride” launched at KTM (MARCH 2023)

Online registration and legitimization for “Book a Test Ride”: Customers must register for their test rides and in particular for the reservation of motorcycles. This is done either directly on site (at the dealer) or via the Internet (KTM website).

To make the BATR (Book-A-Test-Ride) process easier for customers and dealers, the onboarding process was mapped electronically (recording of customer data, legitimation with driving license and electronic signature on the rental contract). For the test itself, “friendly dealers” were selected to take part in the electronic onboarding and were activated for this purpose via a special role in the Bike Center portal.

Convenient registration from home

A customer can register for BATR either at home (by receiving a registration link) or at the terminal at the dealer (bike center, web application). This creates a positive experience for both the dealer and the customer, as unnecessary customer waiting time and dealer employee time is eliminated and the customer can ideally be instructed immediately in the test ride.

The advantage for KTM is that the customer/prospective customer is recorded for later marketing and sales activities, whereas today it is not always guaranteed that KTM will receive the customer data.

In order to map the use case electronically, the POSportal platform and the POSident-Fotoident and POSsign modules were used and connected to the Bike Center platform.
