Knowledge database for stamp enthusiasts launches
After about a year of preparation, research and development, Austrian Post is launching a new service in its philately section.
At https://philawiki.post.at, stamp collectors and interested parties can now post their stamps and their knowledge of their history online.
Andreas Gabriel, Head of the Philately Department and Philawiki's client, is proud of his new website: "With Philawiki, we want to build a bridge between analog technologies and the modern digital media world, because the tablet PC is the photo or stamp album of the future. It has taken us some effort to make the Austrian Post stamp archive accessible in this form. However, we are the first in the world to be able to offer our customers such a service. This once again underlines the outstanding position of Austrian Post in this field. We have already received requests for cooperation from postal companies in other countries."
Interested parties can register free of charge on the Philawiki website (https://philawiki.post.at) and publish their stamp knowledge.
