Electronic signature in the branches of the Berner Kantonalbank (BEKB)

Following the successful completion of the project, customers of Berner Kantonalbank will be able to sign electronically when making deposits and withdrawals this year.

As in various other banks, the electronic signature was introduced in the first phase for use cases at the transaction counters of the Berner Kantonalbank branches in order to further optimize branch processes with the help of automated and electronic processes.

The first phase already includes the client-server-based target architecture and the use of 10-inch signature tablets.

Challenging project with intelligent failure concepts

After analyzing the existing processes and systems at the transaction counter, high-volume use cases were identified that had to be made available both online and offline (in emergency mode). Following intensive pilot operation, the solution can now be rolled out in live operation throughout Switzerland.
